Botswana Camps
Return of the Buffalo – Selinda Reserve, Botswana

You have to see it to believe it!  1000 Buffalo crossing in front of your vehicle on an early transfer to the airstrip.  The morning light provided the warm glow enhanced  as the herd kicked up dust as they went.

Buffalo in these numbers are such a joy to watch, but this site would not have been seen six years ago. When Dereck and Beverely Joubert took over the lease, in 2006, the remaining hunting quotas were stopped. Over time we have seen such a recovery so that we can enjoy this site today. Conservation in motion.

One guest compared to the odour to a dairy farm, pretty close I’m sure. What can be also exciting is what follows the heavy set “beasts”.  Buffalo can provide a meal and half for the hungry Selinda Pride of Lion, their favored meal
