We’re have been inundated with requests as to what the new look and feel and where our new camp will be located in Kenya’s Masai Mara. Here’s what we have so far for you to enjoy…

Mara Toto Camp will open on the 7th of November 2012, on a cool and secluded forested bend of the Ntiakitiak River in Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. With just four guest tents, Mara Toto will be an intimate and romantic camp. Each tent, library and dining tent will have a style echoing that of Africa’s early explorers with Campaign-style furniture and classic safari ambiance. Guests of Mara Toto have access to the exclusive 70,000 acre Mara North Conservancy and of course 375,000 acres of game-rich lands of the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

The camp is designed to cater to independent travelers on custom itineraries but also for small groups seeking a private camp. Our specialist guide tent caters to those accompanied by a guide or trip leader.

This will be Great Plains’ second Masai Mara camp following in the footsteps of our phenomenal Mara Plains Camp in the Olare Orok Conservancy, located just upstream from Mara Toto Camp. Mara Plains Camp will close on November 1, 2012 for a total redesign and reopen on the same location in May 2013 to operate as the big sister to Mara Toto Camp. Together, these will be two of the very finest camps in East Africa.
