Zarafa Diaries – Using the signs of the bush and find a cheetah

On our way to the airstrip yesterday, we saw a giraffe looking very strangely in the opposite direction to us. It looked to us briefly and straight back to its original line of sight. His neck was straight and he was moving his legs in an uneasy fashion. We drove off slowly in the direction the giraffe was looking to see if we could pick up some tracks and indeed found “Cheetah”.  Guests, Bruce and Leora, had never seen one before.  So using the tracks and the stare of the giraffe as a guide we were halted by Bruce’s cry of “Cheetah.”  Their first ever predator. A little lone cat in Africa. Thanks all to the giraffe for guiding us to him.
