We are technically between the “short” and “long” rains at the moment and so we expect it to be dry. However, yesterday as we were eating lunch overlooking the elephants at the waterhole, a spectacular thunder storm rolled in towards us and we had rain on and off until the early evening.
As we reported yesterday, the elephants in the area have been desperate for water and causing havoc with our water storage systems, so it was nice to see them all wandering off towards the rain and enjoying a cool shower.
Unfortunately it didn’t last and we had more invaders into the lodge grounds during the night… the battle of wills continues!
