The first entry of 2012 looks at the last happenings of 2011:
In the morning Foster and Ocean managed to track the female lion that we had been hearing early in the morning, she entertained briefly before doing what lions do best – sleep.
In the evening the guest headed for the HES Zibidianja for a sunset cruise and a champagne reception with canapes before heading to camp for a pre news eve night drive to bring the new year in. Hippos entertained allowing great photos and we watched african skimmers fishing.
The evenings entertainment was quite a unique and a first for Zarafa. The staff snuck onto the house boat style vessel and in the dead of night moved the boat so it was adjacent to the main area deck where we were having dinner. Up came the canvas flaps for a musical and dance extravaganza on water began with the boat as the stage before the boat drifted back into the night.
The finale was a night drive which brought us into 2012. Here is to an exciting 2012 for Zarafa and the Selinda Concession.
